Format and Points System

Tuesday tournaments follow a "two match guarantee" format. Players that win their first match proceed through the main flight. Players that lose their first match proceed through the consolation flight. After the first round, match winners proceed and losers are eliminated.

Tournaments are run using the standard US Tournament Rules and Procedures. We will also follow standard clock rules if the tournament schedule jeopardized by slow play or time limitations.

The club standings points system is designed to encourage participation. A win in the main flight is worth 1 point. A win in the consolation flight is worth 0.8 points. In addition, the player that wins the main flight gets bonus points equal to 0.1 times the number of players in the tournament. Second place in the main flight and first consolation receive bonus points equal to 0.05 time the number of players in the tournament.
